Marathon Party Without Waste: Boards, Boxes and a Three-Day Plan

Updated Oct 25, 2026

Marathon Party is the most luck-driven stop on the rotation. You feed pinballs into the board, collect skateboards, and spin a wheel that decides how many metres your Tatari covers. Nothing you do changes where the wheel lands. What you do control is when you spin, what you pick from the surprise boxes dotted along the route, and whether your evolution trials count. Those three choices separate a forgettable Marathon from one that funds the next event.

The race in brief

  • Teams of four race together, and every member's distance adds to the team total.
  • Boards are earned on the pinball board: one tile is labelled as granting candy and skateboards, and the version we saw showed a 22% chance.
  • A normal spin usually moves you between 1 and 20 metres. Holding enough boards unlocks bigger multipliers, and free spins appear on the wheel.
  • Track milestones hand out resources, and final team placement adds a reward on top.
  • The event usually lasts three days.

Trials first, running second

Marathon is one of the most trial-friendly events: Tatadex counts 26 evolution trials that can progress here. Most come as a choice between Marathon (listed in some trials as Snowboard Sprint) and Fishing or Cozy Farm. The pattern is steady: Tier 2 trials ask for 2,000 boards, Tier 3 trials ask for 6,000. Firecoil → Charflutter, for example, accepts 2,000 boards or 4,000 fertiliser, and Voltmare → Boltallion takes 6,000 boards or 6,000 rods.

The trap is timing. Boards spent before the trial is active do not count, so open the Tatari, start its Evolve Trial, and only then spin. Also check that the trial shows the skateboard icon; older text sometimes refers to a sneaker item.

The gift boxes are the real prize

Distance itself is not the point. The Surprise Rewards boxes placed along the track are, because each one lets you take one of three offers drawn from a pool of wishboxes, pinballs, capsules, food, skateboards and candy. Pick in this order:

  1. Wishbox, every time. Nothing else on the list is as scarce, and wishboxes feed directly into evolutions.
  2. Pinballs. They power every other event, including the next one.
  3. Capsule or food, by need. A capsule is worth more if you are growing collection stars to unlock higher-tier Tatari. Food here is often a basic cookie, and the boss leaderboard already drips food to you regularly.
  4. Candy, almost never. Even a seven-figure candy offer loses to a capsule, because candy is the easiest resource in the game to farm.

Skateboards only make sense if you are a few spins away from a trial target.

Picking a multiplier

The wheel scales from ×1, where segments are worth a handful of metres, up to ×500, where they reach the thousands. At ×500 the wheel holds a 10,000 m segment, small ones, and a "Free" segment that grants distance without using a board. Big multipliers raise the stakes in both directions.

Since the outcome is random, the choice is mostly about your stock. A large pile of boards can absorb a few bad spins at a high setting; a small pile cannot. If you are only spinning to finish a trial, multiplier matters even less, since trials count boards spent, not metres run.

A three-day plan for banking pinballs

Marathon has no rewards tab. Opening the event page instantly pays you whatever your teammates have unlocked so far. That is good news if you want to carry pinballs forward, because staying off the page is the same as holding rewards.

DayWhat to do
1Do not open the Marathon page. Bank skateboards from pinball as usual. If a trial is waiting, start it, spin only the boards it needs, then leave.
2Stay away again. Your team keeps running; the rewards pile up.
3Open the page, spend every remaining board, claim everything, and walk into the next event with pinballs in hand.

Tell your team. A teammate who sees no movement from you for two days may assume you have dropped out, and team placement depends on everyone's metres eventually arriving. For the wider picture of how this fits the rotation, see banking pinballs across the event loop.

A nod for monster-film fans

If one teammate runs Charflutter (the fire moth) and another runs Rockzilla, Charflutter perches on Rockzilla's back during the race. It is a clear tribute to the famous giant-lizard-and-moth pairing from classic monster films. It gives nothing extra, but it is a fun thing to set up with your team.

  • RockzillaRockzillaThe other picks Rockzilla T3 (the “Godzilla”)

Before you close the event

  • Trial active before the first spin?
  • Wishbox taken from every box that offered one?
  • All boards spent on the final day?
  • Team aware of your plan?

Other rotations are summarised on the event field card.

Tatadex verdict

Marathon is almost all luck, so Fox thinks the thing you really control is your pinballs: don't open the Marathon page on the first two days, and save the run for the last day. That way you still carry pinballs into the next event.

If a Tatari needs a Marathon task to evolve, start the task before you run, or you'll have to wait for the next cycle. The Charflutter and Rockzilla Easter egg gives nothing extra, but it's a fun thing to try with your team.
