Chapter 16 belongs to the Dewgrub line. Waveflutter starts shaping lineups on 16-10, Morphanessa, its fourth form, joins on 16-50, and by the 16-60 to 16-80 stretch players were saying outright that most of the formation is built on that line's ability. The reason is the sleep: its water bombs slow enemies and now and then knock them out cold, and the allies standing beside it pick up that same effect on their own hits, so a whole lane borrows its control. Listed levels sit in a tight band around 275 to 281, and every stage in the chapter came with solid player reports.
Blitzmane, Swaystroll, Cheerlet, Azurion and Rockwu are on every board, with Frostique and Bubbit close behind. Rockzilla, the T3 of the Rubblet line, takes the front of lane 3 on 16-50. Without a strong Dewgrub line, expect the bosses to be harder: one lineup may not work at all, though players at 310 or more got through without it, and a T3 Ashlarva line was another way around. On the 16-20 lightning boss, players under roughly 280 found the right lane short on damage, fed units for attack and leaned on a T3 mantis. One caution for 16-30: someone wasn't sure the formation still holds at 290 and above.

16-10, a level-275 stage, is where Waveflutter starts shaping lineups. It sits in the fourth row of lane 2, behind Blitzmane and Cluckeroo. Its water bombs slow and sometimes put enemies to Sleep, and adjacent allies' attacks can also Slow and Sleep.
In this setup, a level-292 player with dojos at 4-3-3-3-3 said the one change they made to someone else's version was moving Tideon, the evolved form of Bubbit, up a row so it got the Waveflutter buff. That's the kind of small change this stage rewards. Another player at level 275 said they tweaked a formation and it finally worked.
Lane 4 works as the deepest: Stalkerix, Cheerlet, Rockwu and Capypapa, with two healers around the monkey. Lane 1 is home to Swaystroll, Cactobloom and Bubbit, so Bubbit's Fragile mist feeds Cactobloom's Sting implosions. Lane 5 consists of Firecoil, Frostique and Flametail. In lane 3 you'll find Frugagon and Azurion with a gap between them.
Waveflutter has been swapped out for Sparkdoe twice and Cluckeroo twice, and Ospisces has twice gone in for Flametail. Cactobud has stood in for Azurion.

16-20 is a lightning boss at level 276, and the complaint was the right lane. Players below about level 280 found it lacked damage there, so they fed units to raise their attack stat, and a T3 mantis, the evolved form of Stalkerix, also helped. Most shared lineups rely on a T3 Waveflutter.
In Lineup 1 the right lane is lane 5: Voltling in the third row, Zapooch and Surgehoof. It's all lightning, and against a lightning boss that's the lane where damage runs short. Voltling's shadow attack paralyses, Zapooch chains, and Surgehoof's splashes do the rest.
The left side is solid from the first row. Down lane 1 it's Stalkerix, Frugagon and Cluckeroo. Lane 2 contains Blitzmane, Cheerlet and Sparkdoe. Lane 3 runs with Cobbledon and Rockwu at the front, Rockhog's slowing mud in the fourth row and Azurion at the back.
Lane 4 lines up Swaystroll in the second row and Waveflutter in the fifth, with two empty rows between them for the bombs to slow enemies across.
Capobeetle has been a substitute for Cluckeroo twice and Stalkerix once. Humbleetle has gone in for Rockhog, Pearpair for Cluckeroo, Solaflora for Frugagon, and Buzzbeak for Voltling.

16-30, at level 280, has one player's warning attached: they weren't sure the formation works at level 290 or above. Another found their own version at level 283.
Lineup 1 puts Waveflutter at the back of lane 3, with an empty row between it and Cobbledon and Rockwu. The lane's damage comes from Rockwu's clones at the front.
Lane 4 ends up being the long one: Stalkerix, Cheerlet, Frugagon and Rattlecoil, a front pair with slow and Stun from behind. Lane 1 fields Blitzmane, Voltling and Sparkdoe, knockback followed by two paralyses. Lane 5 consists of Swaystroll, Frostique two rows back and Bubbit right behind the ice.
Lane 2 works as the thin one. Goonbug and Azurion start in the fourth and fifth rows, so enemies get a long walk there before anything stops them. Goonbug's invincible dash is the lane's main defence.
That's why lane 2 is the most swapped. Ospisces has been the swap for Goonbug twice, and Firecoil, Capypapa, Pyrohound or Clawzor have also gone in for it. Ospisces has twice replaced Bubbit, and Humbleetle has twice replaced Waveflutter.

16-40, at level 280, lists a unit at its base form. Sackling stands in the third row of lane 5 ahead of Azurion. It shoots green bubbles and stops attacking to rebuild its Liquid Shield whenever it's down, so it spends part of the fight just protecting itself while Azurion burns from behind.
On the grid, Waveflutter is in the fourth row of lane 4, between Cheerlet and Sparkdoe. That's the adjacent-ally placement: Sparkdoe's piercing lance and Cheerlet's dance can carry its Slow and Sleep. Blitzmane leads the lane and boosts the allies behind it.
Notably, lane 2 is Stalkerix, Frugagon, Cluckeroo and Rockwu at the back. In the recorded lineup, lane 3 is Swaystroll, Frostique and Bubbit. Inside lane 1 sits Turtuff with Surgehoof behind it.
One player said they weren't under-levelled for this, they just didn't have Waveflutter before, which is what held them back.
Capobeetle has been swapped in for Rockwu three times and Cluckeroo twice. Kitjitsu has twice gone in for Sackling, and Synthhog has twice gone in for Bubbit. Rockzilla has stood in for Surgehoof.

16-50, a level-280 stage, introduces two upgrades at once. Morphanessa, the T4 of Dewgrub, sits at the back of lane 2, and Rockzilla, the T3 of Rubblet, leads lane 3 from the first row.
Rockzilla fires blazing beams for area damage and sometimes lands a powerful hit. Turtuff stands behind it, then Humbleetle's slowing dung and Bubbit after a gap. That lane has two guardians and two slows, which makes it the anchor.
Morphanessa keeps the Waveflutter kit: water bombs that slow and sometimes Sleep, and adjacent allies whose attacks can do the same. In lane 2 it's two rows behind Rockwu, with Swaystroll at the front.
Lanes 4 and 5 also start in the first row. Notably, lane 4 is Blitzmane, Cheerlet and Sparkdoe. On the grid, lane 5 is Voltling, Zapooch and Frostique. Grid-wise, lane 1 is Goonbug and Azurion in the fourth and fifth rows.
Maskfry or Clawzor have replaced Morphanessa, Electroar has gone in for Blitzmane, and Sealoon for Zapooch.

16-60, listed at level 280, is built on the Dewgrub line, and players said so plainly. One explained that a T3 Dewgrub is very important, because most of the formation is based on its T3 ability, and another lacked boss damage without it.
Lineup 1 uses Morphanessa at the back of lane 2, behind Rockzilla and Rockwu, which both start in the first two rows. A player who shared their version said it also works up to 16-65, where it stops working, and that it used a T3 lion and a T2 abyss fish.
Down lane 3 it's Blitzmane in the first row, then Sparkdoe, Surgehoof and Bubbit. In lane 5 you'll find Stalkerix, Cluckeroo, Frugagon and Flametail. Look at lane 4: Swaystroll, Cheerlet and Frostique. Inside lane 1 sits Azurion alone at the back.
Another player without the fire tiger at T2 said they used the salamander in that spot instead.
Pyrohound has been a substitute for Swaystroll four times, and Synthhog has twice gone in for Morphanessa. Boltskipper or Zapooch have stood in for Bubbit, and Turtuff for Rockzilla.

16-70 is a boss at level 280, and one player explained why the Dewgrub line keeps showing up: its effect helped them strengthen lanes that were weak for their level, naming the 16-70 and 16-80 bosses as examples. They also said they'd seen people pass these without it because their tataris were already level 310 or higher.
Lineup 1 has Morphanessa at the back of lane 2, behind Swaystroll and Frostique. Lane 3 is home to Turtuff and Rockwu at the front, then Humbleetle and Bubbit. Blitzmane, Cheerlet and Sparkdoe make up lane 4. Lane 5 is made up of Voltling, Surgehoof and Capypapa, with the healer behind the damage.
Four lanes start in the first row, so the boss meets a full front line. Lane 1 features Goonbug and Azurion in the fourth and fifth rows.
The same player suggested trying a lineup without the Dewgrub line if you don't have it, or sharing yours for players with different evolutions or levels.
Tideon has gone in instead of Bubbit, Synthhog or Seaswirl have gone in for Morphanessa, Zapooch for Surgehoof, and Rockzilla for Humbleetle.

16-80 is the chapter boss at level 281, and it shares 16-70's advice: the Dewgrub line helps a lot, one lineup may not work without it, and players at level 310 or more have passed without one. A clear using a T3 Ashlarva, the evolved form of Firecoil, has also been confirmed.
Lineup 1 holds most lanes back. Lane 1 starts in the first row, with Blitzmane, then Sparkdoe, Frugagon and Goonbug at the back. Here, lane 2 is Flametail, Firecoil and Bubbit. Grid-wise, lane 3 is Stalkerix, Rockwu and Morphanessa right behind the monkey, so Rockwu's clones are the adjacent attacks that can Slow and Sleep.
Seaswirl is new at the back of lane 5, behind Swaystroll and Frostique. It launches two bouncing balls that ricochet and inflict Weak. Also, lane 4 is Cheerlet and Azurion in the fourth and fifth rows.
Lollama, Cactobloom, Capobeetle or Cluckeroo have replaced Goonbug. Pandaroo or Rockzilla have gone in for Morphanessa, Cactobloom or Snowcub for Seaswirl, and Turtuff for Azurion.
Lineups are numbered in the order shown above, left to right, top to bottom.
